Menimo

How Menimo orders results

Menimo shows you the classes and places that match what you searched for: the activity, the time, and where you are. Those matches are then ordered like this, in this order of importance:

  1. Distance. Places closer to the point you searched from come first, in bands of one kilometre.
  2. Sponsored listings. Within a distance band, a provider with a paid Pro listing is shown before the others. This is the only payment that affects the order. A Pro listing is never shown above a place more than a kilometre closer, and it never appears in results it does not match. Every result moved this way is marked Sponsored.
  3. How you can book. Within a band, places where you can book directly come before places that confirm your request, which come before places that send you to their own site.
  4. Start time. Nearest to the time you asked for, in half-hour steps.
  5. Rating. Among places still equal, the higher average rating from verified visits comes first — only when a place has at least ten ratings in the last two years; with fewer, the rating does not affect the order.
  6. Whether free places are known. A listing that shows how many places are left comes before one that does not.
  7. Freshness. For timetables entered by hand, the most recently confirmed comes first.

Nothing else moves a place up or down: not what a provider pays us beyond Pro, not how many people clicked it, and not our own interest. A provider's plan does not move it either — but some plans and tools make direct booking possible (a practice plan, or a connected calendar), and how you can book is one of the rules above. We also list businesses we run ourselves (for example our own swim school); they are on a practice plan like any other, ranked by exactly these rules, and marked "Run by Menimo's operator" on their listing.

"Tonight near you" uses the same rules with the time set to the next six hours.

Reviews. All reviews on Menimo are from verified visits: only a client whose booking was made on the platform and has taken place can leave one. Averages are the plain mean of all published star ratings from the last two years, shown from three ratings. Reviews are shown newest first; you can change the order to highest or lowest. We offer nothing in return for a review.

This page is version marketplace-ranking-v1. We tell providers at least 15 days before we change the ordering, and the change appears here.
